About the Team
The Alameda 12U Boys team is for players in 5th and 6th grade, and serves as a key developmental stage in their lacrosse journey. Athletes begin to refine their individual skills while learning how to play within a team system. Competing in the East Bay Lacrosse League (EBLL), the 12U team practices during the week and plays games on weekends against other regional clubs.
Coaching Philosophy
Our coaches are focused on helping players grow into confident, capable athletes — both on and off the field. At 12U, we continue emphasizing the fundamentals while introducing more advanced strategies and team concepts. We believe in positive reinforcement, high-effort practices, and creating a space where athletes feel supported, challenged, and excited to compete.
Player Experience
At the 12U level, players will:
- Sharpen stick work (passing, catching, shooting, dodging)
- Learn team offense, defensive positioning, and transition play
- Compete in full-field games with modified checking and game rules
- Gain experience in situational play, sportsmanship, and leadership
- Be encouraged to take initiative, solve problems, and communicate on the field
We balance competitive play with a continued focus on development and fun.
